In 2017, Colectivo RPM was in charge of the curation and mediation of the event "Hiperespazos. A casa fóra da casa" (Hyper Spaces. Home Beyond Home). Throughout these gatherings, as part of the process of rethinking the uses of existing institutional spaces and facilities in A Coruña, certain inspiring examples from the Iberian Peninsula were highlighted, showcasing innovative approaches to the concept of artistic residency, the comprehensive planning and use of cultural and socio-community spaces, and each territory's commitment to its artistic talent and the development of creativity.
During the event, in addition to delving into the unique worlds of invited projects and individuals—which shared their experiences from libraries, social centers, cultural spaces, artistic residencies, self-managed spaces, and more—a collective journey was proposed through these common universes that need to be navigated to build an innovative, dynamic, open, participatory, inclusive, and sustainable project.
Over the course of three days, various spaces for collective learning were opened up to collectively imagine these universes that shape the hyper space: people (teams and users), administrative and legal structures, emotions, economic resources, technical and material resources, dialogue with the context, and unique criteria and identity.
For all those who couldn't attend the event, there are two valuable resources for consultation.
On one hand, the documentation videos of each of the presentations and proposed dynamics in the different universes, and on the other hand, the reflection and analysis exercise provided by Ania González, Horacio González, and Enrique Lista. These materials serve as wonderful tools to continue exploring the threads that emerged during Hiperespazos.
